New House within a conservation area
Make an enquiryOur clients for this project sought planning permission for a new house within the rear garden of their existing home. It was however a highly-sensitive backland site in a conservation area and the proposed house was not consistent with the prevailing pattern of development. We proposed a highly original design approach for the new house drawing inspiration from the timber garages and sheds which characterise backland areas and, working with Douglas and King Architects, we secured planning permission on first submission at planning committee despite significant neighbour opposition.
