Our clients sought planning permission to build a three residential unit rooftop development on a three storey mansion block in Highgate. The property was not listed but sat within the Highgate Conservation Area. At an early stage in the project we approached the Highgate Society from whom we received very helpful comments which fed into the design development. The LB Haringey initially refused planning permission which we successfully appealed, making the case that the design respected the existing building and that sensitive new development was consistent with the character of the conservation area. The successful appeal result was reported in the planning press.
